Derby Festivities

Thursday was packed full of Derby activities. The kids made and raced horses at school and had several other race activities pertaining to Derby. The Pegasus Parade was held downtown. Paul had a short day, so we were lucky to spend the day with Dada. The parade had several marching bands including UofL's marching band. Patrick Hughes, who is legally blind, plays trumpet for U of L and was featured on Home Makeover several months ago, so we were able to see him in action. The parade also had a float with past and present pageant princesses. Elizabeth liked this float because the girls were wearing such pretty dresses. Evan liked the helicopter float. Both kids were especially excited when the float with Dora and Boots rode by. Several clowns also walked by giving the kids Hi 5's. Overall, we had a great time. I have to say thank goodness for pink and blue cotton candy.
